And so, July begins! Last month was very important for Vanessa Jo-Ann Couture. We celebrated the inauguration of our online boutique and the launch of our Summer collection called “Midsommar 2021”, after the name of one of the main festivities of Sweden.
Midsommar is the celebration of the summer solstice and it’s a tradition that had its origins during pre-Christian times in Scandinavic countries. The summer solstice usually occurs around the 25th of July in the Northern hemisphere and in Sweden is often associated with large gatherings with friends and family in the countryside. A pole decorated with leaves and flowers is set and people dance around it. Also, wearing a flower wreath on your hair is common for women and children.
Our Summer collection has been inspired in this wonderful tradition and in the Swedish nature during this time of the year.
